Only bad drivers get into accidents, you might tell a friend after reading a news article about a crash. Is that really true? Have you never had a “whew, that was close” moment?

According to the Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC), there are an average of 179,233 crashes each year in the Lower Mainland. Crashes on our roads can and do happen, even if it’s a sunny day and the traffic is light. And if the weather is bad, or you’re distracted, then that can increase your risk of a collision.

Remember that crashes involving pedestrians happen most often at intersections, and during rush hour traffic. Our friends over at ICBC have some tips on road safety.
